Welcome Laura

Laura has joined the nursery staff team as a student from East Surrey College studying her Level 2 Childcare.  She will be with us for the foreseeable working across the nursery.

It is usual for students to work at nursery to gain experience.  Some parents will remember how many of my staff team have joined us via this route of learning.  We hope Laura settles in with us easily, particularly as a local resident and one highly recommended by NDN parents!

Manic Monsters/KidzFunZone

We have put randomly into as many ruck sacks as we could today, some manic monsters loyalty cards.  I am also in receipt of a couple of vouchers which I will pass to the room reps in pre-school if anyone particularly had an interest in them.

Improvements

Some of you may have noticed we are updating the area between the buttercup room and the children’s bathrooms whilst the room is not at full capacity.  We have taken a small section of their space for a few days to do this.  This should not be an inconvenience, just a little unsightly for now!

Uniform Sale Today

We have a massive amount of nearly new and really pre-loved nursery uniform overflowing our spares at nursery.  We therefore have items for sale at 50p cash per item, with proceeds going to stock the refreshment area in bluebell our staff room!  I.O.U’s will be accepted!

In addition all new nursery shorts are to clear at £2.50 per pair.

The nursery store will be open until 6pm today and we will notify you when we have a chance to open this up to you again.

Welcome Elise

Elise has joined our team at nursery and is a level three practitioner.  We welcome her and hope she settles in quickly as she works across all areas of nursery.  Elise has started her Level three forest schools training with us also.

Hooray the vehicle moves slightly

As you may have noticed the abandoned vehicle at nursery entrance has a police sign on it and a flat tyre!  We have been instructed to wait until next Monday before we can expect its removal.  However unexpectedly this evening the vehicle has moved a little to allow for a bit more sight and slightly easier movement for parents into and from nursery driveway.

We are aware that some parents have made their own attempts with the council and police to assist with our endeavour to remove this dangerous obstruction.  Thank you and we hope the situation ends soon.

Welcome to Robert

Robert joins us as Deputy Supervisor

Hi my name is Rob. I have recently joined Nutfield Day Nursery, I have worked in childcare for 10 years now and have a level 3. I am very creative and love the children to express their creative sides too. I used to be a scout leader and just love the outside building tents, bridges and creating a fire. I am now starting my level 3 in forest schools and look forward to completing this.

I have worked with children from babies up to year 3 and taught physical education.  Most recently I had the role of leading a large pre-school and third in charge of a nursery; so I am very used to team leading.  I look forward to new experiences at Nutfield and working with a new team.

Welcome to Leila

My name is Leila. I have been working in childcare for 6 years now. I am Level 5 qualified in Early Years and am currently undertaking my BA Hons in Leadership in Practice at Kingston University. My position at Nutfield is Deputy Manager. I am excited to join the team here! My priority is to ensure that families and staff alike have the best possible journey through their time at the setting.

Since taking on Performing Arts and exploring various professional skills in a number of different job roles, I found my calling. I started my career in Early Years thinking that I knew a lot about children, I am now very aware that I am forever learning and am a full believer that we never stop. I enjoy exploring the theory of children’s development and applying my learning to practice by modifying pedagogy to coincide with each various learning intelligences.

I am really looking forward to develop my professional practice while at Nutfield and can’t wait to get outdoors and take part in Forest School fun! I have grown up with siblings and lots of animals, exploring woods and enjoying walks. I am very energetic and am up for challenges and adventure. I’ve travelled a number of countries and explored their cultures whilst learning a lot about myself. This experience taught me to relax and enjoy each and every day. I hope this is evident in my practice, as my aim is to enable your children to have the most enjoyable and thriving experiences.

Chicken Pox

We have been notified about a case of chicken pox at nursery.  Any pregnant mothers or those with any concerns should contact their G.P.’s for guidance.  Thanks Ally
